About Ray

For more than 30 years, Ray Wrazen has been proud to call Aurora home. It is where he and his wife, Lynn, built their life together and raised two daughters. Now, as their family has grown to include grandchildren, Ray feels an even deeper responsibility to help preserve what makes Aurora special while strengthening the community for generations to come. That commitment is at the heart of his public service.

Ray currently serves as a Town of Aurora Council member, where he works on budgets, infrastructure, town assets, land use, and long-term planning. As Chair of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, he has helped guide an important community conversation about Aurora’s future. His service also includes liaison responsibilities for essential town functions and participation on regional solid-waste and sewer boards. Before joining the Town Board, Ray served on Aurora’s Zoning Board of Appeals. These experiences have deepened his belief that local government works best when residents are heard, decisions are explained clearly, and leaders plan carefully and follow through.

Ray also brings decades of professional leadership experience to public service. In senior roles spanning operations, planning, forecasting, and supply-chain management, he led teams, managed budgets, inventory, logistics, and complex projects. The work taught him how to solve problems, improve processes, build consensus, and make responsible decisions with limited resources. These are the same practical skills he brings to town government.

Service has long been part of Ray’s life beyond Town Hall. He has mentored local entrepreneurs through SCORE Buffalo-Niagara, volunteers with Explore Buffalo, and previously served for 12 years as President of the Aurora Arsenal Soccer Club. In each role, he has focused on listening, building strong organizations, exercising responsible financial management and helping people and communities succeed.

Ray is running for Town Supervisor because he believes Aurora deserves leadership that is engaged, accessible, thoughtful, and focused on results. His priorities include open and transparent government, responsible budgeting, smart infrastructure investment, protection of the natural environment, practical and affordable housing choices, and well-planned growth that preserves the character and quality of life that make Aurora special.

For Ray, this campaign is about serving neighbors and preparing Aurora for the future. He is ready to listen with compassion, work collaboratively, and bring steady, experienced leadership to the Supervisor’s office.
